2022 FNGLA Report
Awards: Up to 10 awards of up to $6,500 each
Eligibility: Any UF/IFAS faculty member assigned to a UF/IFAS department or research and education center is eligible to participate. Team size is limited to up to three people as investigators per project.
Scope and Criteria: The projects should supplement existing Experiment Station research and address problems and questions important to the Florida nursery or landscaping industry. Priority topics are described in the attached FNGLA Research Priorities flyer but proposals on any topic that would benefit the industry are encouraged.
Reporting: All awardees will be required to submit a four-slide PowerPoint summarizing progress and a brief report in August 2025.
How to Apply: Please submit the requested materials at https://ufresearch.infoready4.com/#ifas by September 9, 2024. The information requested includes:
· Cover sheet: project title, PI/co-PI information, and non-technical executive summary (200 words max)
· Project budget and priority area: budgeted items in three categories, including salary & fringe, materials & supplies, and other; and priority area(s) addressed by the proposal
· Project description: narrative that includes the following items (maximum 300 words per item):

- Justification,
- Methods,
- Potential benefits to the industry,
- Description of how this work complements the investigators’ programs and is augmented with other funding,
- (If relevant) an update – mini progress report – if the proposal builds on previously funded work by FNGLA.

Proposal Evaluation: Proposals that are not complete or not submitted by September 9, 2024 will not be considered. The selection process includes review by an FNGLA committee in September, and FNGLA is responsible for final award decisions. PIs of projects selected for funding will be notified shortly after selection.
