REEport: Competitive NIFA Grant Initiation
An email will be sent from your NIFA program specialist with your unique REEport proposal number. You cannot access a new grant project template in REEport until the program specialist initiates the documentation process. Once the process is complete, you will receive an automated message to proceed with project creation in REEport.

portal.nifa.usda.gov | Login to the USDA/REEport website. |
Click "REEport (SAES - University of Florida)." | |
Click "Project Initiation" and search for your project using "Proposal Number" or "Project Director." | |
Fill in the necessary and/or applicable fields marked with an asterisk. | |
NOTE: Use your last name as a placeholder for your project number. | |
Enter "Participants" est. FTE, "Goals and Objectives," "Products and Outputs," "Expected Outcomes," "Target Audience," "Methods," "Non-Technical Summary," and "Keywords." | |
NIFA Classification Manual | Complete "Classification" section. Use the NIFA Classification Manual for guidance and available codes. |
When complete, click "Submit for Review." | |
The REEport coordinator will review your project for submission to USDA. REEport projects for competitive awards become active upon submission. |
Reporting Requirements | |

Annual Progress Report | Progress Reports must be submitted within 90 days after the anniversary of the start date. |
Final Report | Final Reports must be submitted within 90 days after the termination (end date) of the project. It may be submitted at any time to terminate the project. |
