Robin Barber is currently a Research Administrator III in the UF/IFAS Office of the Dean for Research.  Robin’s career began at UF in 2007 in the Family, Youth, and Community Sciences department as a Secretary and she quickly rose through the ranks to become the department’s Accountant.   She was one of the founding members of the UF/IFAS Shared Service Center now called Sponsored Program Administration.  In her role as a Business Administrative Specialist II, she quickly discovered her love for Research Administration.  As that love grew, she became determined to learn more about Research Administration.  Branching out of UF/IFAS, she assumed the role of Sponsored Programs Administrator II within the UF Division of Sponsored Research Office. Unquestionably, Robin thrived in this role. She enjoyed the day-to-day challenges and learning about new sponsors and how other colleges work. Along the way, she recognized a passion within herself for mentoring and training in Research Administration, which motivated her to become a presenter for the University of Florida’s UFIRST training modules. As time went on, Robin realized she was missing “home”, as she likes to call it, and found her way back to UF/IFAS, where she leads the Proposal Processing Team in the UF/IFAS Dean for Research Office.  When Robin is not working, you can catch her spending most of her time with her family, whether it’s throwing one of their many family parties, attending numerous school activities, cooking with her husband and daughters, or just hanging at the softball field.  Whatever it is you can guarantee her family will be close by her side.
