A second call for proposals for the Tropical Subtropical Agricultural Research, Caribbean (TSTAR-C) Grant Program for the FY2009 competition has been sent out targeting Tropical Animal Agriculture. The program funding priority for Plant and Animal invasive pest and disease has closed as of the November 10th deadline.

Those interested in submitting proposals for the TSTAR FY09 competition should be aware that until such time as the USDA budget is no longer being funded by Continuing Resolution, AND, such time as an appropriation for TSTAR funds is approved by Congress, funds for this program remain uncertain for FY 2009.

No letter of intent is due for the "Tropical Animal Agriculture" proposals, but full proposals are due to be received by email to mt@ufl.edu on or before December 24th at 5pm. Hard copies should be postmarked on or before December 24th.

Other changes for FY2009 TSTAR Proposals can be found in the Proposal Guidelines linked below.
