Dean's Announcement

It is that time of the year again -- Annual Faculty Reporting of Research.

Last year we moved all faculty to the university's Endnote System and published a compilation of almost 23,000 publications reflecting the career strength of our publishing faculty. Though there are many things I would change to improve the system, the Endnote program is not too bad.

The Endnote system depends upon each faculty member maintaining his or her own Endnote file and sharing that file with the unit. Then all units sharing their file with the Experiment Station. Each year you will be adding publications to your personal Endnote database. It is easiest to do this on the fly during the year or alternatively to add your publications to your database at the end of the year.

As Dr. Arrington indicated in his Oct 30th message, all reports are due DECEMBER 31st to your unit. All units are required to share their de-duplicated file for the unit with the Experiment Station by January 15th. At that point we will compile the new updated IFAS-wide publication database and post it on our website for public access.

After you update your personal Endnote Database please again share it with your unit. When you do this all of your corrections you made to your database and the new publications you added will now be incorporated into your unit's complete file and then on into the Experiment Station's database...

EndNote Web

IFAS uses EndNote Web to collect, compile, and archive publication information. EndNote Web is a popular web-based bibliographical software tool used by students and researchers to organize reference citations. It provides users with the ability to build lists of publications in a user-friendly setting by manually entering publication information or by importing publication data from many online databases. All UF faculty and students have access to EndNote Web for free.
