COS Delivers Up-to-Date Funding Opportunities!
Date: July 25th, 2007
From: Mark R. McLellan, Dean

To All IFAS Researchers:

Did you know that the University of Florida pays for your membership to the Community of Science (www.cos.com)! We do! And you can benefit from this membership in a number of ways.

First – you can automatically search for and be alerted when funding opportunities in your field are announced. Based on your key words, COS will send you an alert about your opportunity to meet the needs of a sponsor.

Second – you can search for scientists who might have collaborative skills matching your needs for a specific grant RFP. You can keep track of internal UF research capabilities, you can publicize research capabilities you have to offer others, you can identify peer reviewers for articles and proposals, and you can discover prospective collaborators for ongoing research projects. To find out who at UF in your field has an entry go to: http://expertise.cos.com/cgi-bin/searchexp?code=134

Third – you can promote your research with a COS profile. You can generate a Microsoft Word-based CV from your profile information, you can view your weekly COS Funding Alert results, and manage your Funding Alert account, you can view COS Funding News and other news and tips from COS. You can create an NIH PHS 398 Biosketch Form for use in standard and modular grants.

So we hope you will look into this system – especially the opportunity to be automatically notified of available funding opportunities
