I am secretary to Dr. Archer, Associate Dean for Research. I maintain his calendar, process his travel paperwork, and type his correspondence and reports. I greet and screen visitors to our office and assist with telephone communications. This requires a knowledge of policies, procedures and programs so that proper interpretation can be made.
I maintain files for grants received from Florida Foundation Seed Producers; soybean, tobacco and peanut check-off funds; USDA Tropical and Subtropical Agricultural Research; Caribbean Basin Advisory Group; and Southern Region Integrated Pest Management Program.
I assist with Research Project Enhancement Awards (an annual seed and bridging grant program for research faculty), and help compile the 5-year Comprehensive Research Program plan prepared by each UF/IFAS department and research center.
I also coordinate the annual budget meetings and assist with the budget process and the Annual Research Report.
